The thunderstorms in S. T were unreal. I woke up at 3am to flashes of lighting and had to get out of bed to see this. Definitely made my “top 10 coolest things I’ve ever seen” list.
Chapel of Bones. If you’ve been to the Catacombs in Paris, this is a smaller version, but “more artsy, less catacomb-y.” But it has an interesting museum upstairs with artifacts from the chapel. And the surrounding areas are quite quaint. I suggest spending half a day here going to the chapel and then causally exploring the immediate area on foot. If I’d had more time in Évora, I would have probably liked to see the Cathedral of Évora and the Templo Romano Évora.
Had a delicious (and healthy-ish) bowl of mushroom/veggies with rice plus a bowl of hearty squash soup at Adega da Talha Velha. We were trying to visit Salsa Verde (all vegan), but they were closed. Enjoyed the other spot nonetheless!
